What is Rotary?

What is Rotary, by Jim Jamieson
We are constantly asked What is Rotary? But we never have the time to explain it all, especially about all we and other Rotarians around the world do. Here is a brief letter from our very own Jim Jamieson, a Rotarian with 34 years of perfect attendance and a great inspiration to all of us locally to give by putting Service Above Self. Thanks Jim!

New Hampshire Maple Festival Weekend

The New Hampshire Maple Festival Weekend is happening during the last weekend of March (March 27-28) and is a compilation of activities, events, education, tastings, and visits to the sugar houses throughout the state of New Hampshire.   Held in North Woodstock, New Hampshire, the NH Maple Fest is the center of activity during the New Hampshire Maple Weekend when over 60 sugar houses across New Hampshire will welcome you.

This sticky-sweet Festival begins on Friday evening, March 26, with many local restaurants featuring maple products in their menus.  On Saturday, join in on some fun with the planned activities and tasting in North Woodstock.  Then, head on out to your favorite neck of the maple groves to help bring in the sap, or to witness how evaporation creates that syrup we’ve all come to love.  Saturday night, the Lincoln Woodstock Rotary will host its first-ever Maple Dinner, with entertainment and the crowning of the first Maple King and Queen.  The sap continues to run on Sunday with the New Hampshire Maple Festival Parade, through the streets of North Woodstock, NH.  See the king and queen in all their glory, as you recover from your pancake breakfast.

There’s more happening every day…so check back often.  The New Hampshire Maple Festival is “produced” in partnership with the Lincoln Woodstock Chamber of Commerce and Lincoln Woodstock Rotary Club.

2009 Corvette Raffle a Big Hit

The Lincoln Woodstock Rotary Club held its annual Corvette Raffle at The Beacon Resort in Lincoln, New Hampshire on September 11, 2009.  It was a huge success with several finalists in attendance right up to the last two numbers drawn.

This year, the Club is thankful that the winner arranged with Banks Chevrolet to receive the Cash Value instead of the Corvette.  They then chose the Lincoln Woodstock Rotary Club’s new Interact Club and another organization to each receive half of the winnings.  What an incredible gift.

See attached list of all the prize winners this year!  2009 Corvette Prize winners

Each year we are able to do so much for our local community and internationally.  Now the Lincoln Woodstock Interact Club will be able to assist in those projects.  We hope that giving our students the opportunity to experience “Service Above Self,” they will choose to serve for a lifetime.

Look for more information on the 2010 Corvette Raffle soon.
